한 점의 온기가 머무는 공간

질 좋은 한우의 깊은 맛과 정갈한 상차림 그리고 한국적인 결을 현대적으로 담아낸 공간에서 하루의 끝을 편안하게 마무리할 수 있기를 바라는 마음에서 이 프로젝트는 사작되었습니다. 방문하는 이들이 따뜻한 식탁과 아늑한 분위기 속에서 자연스러운 온기를 느낄 수 있도록 공간 전체 톤과 구조를 잡아나갔습니다.

공간에 기둥을 연속적으로 배치하여 통일감있고 구조적인 안정감이 느껴지도록 했습니다. 기둥은 고목과 전통 석재를 한 축으로 두고 그 두 재질이 자연스럽게 이어지도록 전통 목공 결구 방식인 '띠열장'을 적용했습니다. 전통 방식의 결합 구조는 단순한 장식적인 요소가 아닌 공간을 지탱하는 핵심 요소입니다. 기둥 하단에는 면실로 꼬아 만든 끈을 감아 마감했습니다. 면 실끈은 예로부터 귀한 재료를 단정히 묶어두고 정성을 더하는 의미를 지니며 손맛과 정성을 담아내는 한국 음식 문화와 자연스럽게 연결됩니다. 이 공간에서 제공하는 음식을 정성스럽게 준비해나가는 과정처럼 공간 역시 작은 디테일까지도 정갈함과 정성을 담아 표현하고자 했습니다.

천장에는 산수의 흐름이 느껴지는 패턴을 적용하여 공간에 풍류의 결을 더했습니다. 멀리 펼쳐진 산수화를 현대적으로 재해석한 이 요소는 조용한 여백 속에 한국적 정취를 은은하게 드러냅니다.

A Space Where a Single Point of Warmth Lingers

This project began with the hope of offering a gentle close to the day—through the deep flavor of high-quality Korean beef, a refined table setting, and a space that reinterprets Korean sensibilities in a contemporary way. The overall tone and structure were shaped to allow visitors to feel a natural sense of warmth, settling comfortably into an inviting atmosphere around a shared table.

Columns are arranged in a continuous sequence throughout the space, creating a sense of unity and structural stability. Each column combines aged timber and traditional stone as a central axis, joined through Tti-yeoljang, a traditional Korean woodworking joint technique that allows the two materials to connect seamlessly. This traditional method of construction functions not as a decorative gesture, but as a core structural element that supports the space itself. At the base of each column, hand-twisted cotton cord is wrapped as a finishing detail. Historically, cotton cord has been used to bind precious objects with care and intention—an act that resonates naturally with Korean food culture, where craftsmanship and sincerity are embedded in the act of cooking. Just as the dishes served here are prepared with devotion, the space itself expresses the same attentiveness through its smallest details.

On the ceiling, a pattern inspired by the flowing rhythms of landscape painting introduces a subtle sense of pungnyu—a refined appreciation of nature and leisure. Reinterpreted from expansive mountain-and-water scenes into a contemporary language, this element quietly reveals a Korean atmosphere within moments of calm and open void.
