바람이 쉬어가며 깊어지는 공간

이 한옥의 첫인상은 높은 계단을올라 문을 여는 순간부터 시작됩니다. 정갈하게 쌓인 기와 지붕 뒤로 보이는 건물들과 그 뒤로 보이는 산과 푸른 하늘이 겹겹이 레이어링되어 파노라마처럼 펼쳐지는 장면은 공간의 분위기를 단번에 압도합니다.

실내는 어두운 톤의 우드와 화이트 컬러의 대비를 중심으로 차분한 인상을 주도록 구성했습니다. 벽면에는 그라데이션 패브릭을 활용해 대비되는 컬러가 자연스럽게 이어지도록 하였으며 긴 매듭으로 연결되어있는 타슬은 도넛형태의 분홍빛의 옥으로 제작하여 패브릭 족자의 양끝에 걸어 한국적인 아름다움이 은은하게 드러나도록 하였습니다. 주방쪽 돌담이 노출된 벽면은 가리는 대신 그대로 살려 외부의 자연적 요소가 실내까지 연장되는 효과를 주었고 한옥 고재의 분위기를 담기 위해 비정형적인 느릅 나무를 공간에 배치하여 고유의 질감을 느낄 수 있도록 하였습니다.

작은 규모의 공간으로 침실, 거실, 주방이 이어지는 레이아웃으로 구성하되 벽체로 분리하면 좁아 보일 수 있는 구조적 특성을 고려해 낮은 형태로 공간을 구분하여 개방감을 지키고 샤워실, 파우더룸, 화장실은 분리하여 프라이버시를 지켜줄 수 있도록 구성했습니다.

이곳은 단순한 숙소의 개념보다 바람이 잠시 머물다 가는 집처럼 일상의 빠른 속도를 잠시 내려놓고 여유를 찾을 수 있는 공간이 되기를 바랍니다.

A Space That Deepens as the Wind Comes to Rest

The first impression of this hanok begins the moment one ascends the high steps and opens the door. Beyond the neatly stacked tiled roof, layers of surrounding buildings unfold, followed by distant mountains and a clear blue sky. This panoramic scene reveals itself in overlapping layers, immediately defining the atmosphere of the space.

The interior is composed to convey a calm and grounded mood through the contrast of dark-toned wood and white surfaces. Gradient fabric is applied to the walls, allowing contrasting colors to transition softly into one another. Long knotted tassels connect the fabric panels, finished with donut-shaped jade ornaments in a gentle pink hue, suspended at each end like scrolls—quietly expressing a sense of Korean beauty. An exposed stone wall along the kitchen area is left uncovered, extending the presence of the outdoors into the interior. To echo the character of reclaimed hanok timber, irregularly shaped elm wood is placed throughout the space, allowing its raw texture and natural grain to be felt.

Despite its compact scale, the layout connects the bedroom, living area, and kitchen in a continuous flow. Rather than dividing the space with full-height walls—which could make the interior feel confined—low partitions are used to maintain openness, while the shower room, powder room, and restroom are separated to ensure privacy.

More than a place to stay, this hanok is envisioned as a home where the wind pauses for a moment. Here, one is invited to step away from the fast pace of everyday life, slow down, and rediscover a sense of quiet ease.
