구석에 위치한 작은 쉼터

여행 온 이들에게 선물 같은 공간이 되었으면 하는 마음에서 시작하게 되었습니다. 진서재 한옥스테이는 한옥 '중정'이라는 전통 공간의 요소를 활용하여 내부 공간과 외부 공간을 연결하여 사계절의 절기를 느낄 수 있는 공간으로 설계하였습니다.

대문을 열고 들어서면 정갈하게 놓인 디딤석을 지나 한옥 내부에서만 볼 수 있는 작은 쉼터 '중정'에서의 여유를 즐길 수 있도록 하였습니다. 전통적인 소재와 장식들을 공간에 담아내고 옛 것 의 정취를 한 것 끌어올리는 근사한 공간으로 연출하기 위해 옛 것의 모습 그대로를 간직할 수 있도록 설계하였습니다. 서까래를 거쳐 천장 지붕 틈으로 보이는 하늘은 계절을 느끼기에 충분하고 창가에 드리워지는 빛과 조경은 감성에 힘을 더해 여유있는 공간으로 연출해줍니다.

공간 구성은 거실, 침실, 탕, 샤워실, 화장실로 구성되어 있고 전체적으로 공간이 이어지도록 하여 공간의 일체감을 주었습니다. 각 침실마다 샤워실과 화장실을 두어 개별적으로 이용할 수 있도록 구성하였습니다.

A Small Retreat Tucked Away in a Quiet Corner

This project began with the hope of creating a space that would feel like a gift for those on a journey. Jinseojae is designed around the traditional hanok element of the jungjeong—an inner courtyard—connecting interior and exterior spaces to allow guests to sense the rhythm of the seasons throughout the year.

Passing through the main gate, visitors step across neatly placed stone thresholds and arrive at a small inner courtyard, a quiet retreat found only within a hanok. Traditional materials and decorative elements are carefully preserved, allowing the atmosphere of the past to remain intact. Rather than reshaping what already existed, the design seeks to retain the original character of the hanok, drawing out its inherent charm.

Looking up past the wooden rafters, the sky revealed through gaps in the roof offers a gentle reminder of changing seasons. Light filtering through the windows and the surrounding greenery adds emotional depth, shaping the space into one defined by calmness and ease.

The overall layout is designed as a continuous flow, creating a strong sense of unity throughout the interior. Each bedroom is equipped with its own shower and restroom, allowing for comfort and privacy within the shared experience of the stay.
