전망이 머무는 한옥
북촌에서도 가장 높은 위치에 자리한 이 한옥은 긴 계단을 따라 올라서는 순간 특별한 풍경을 선물합니다. 이곳만의 지형적 장점이 공간의 첫인상을 결정짓고 '전망이 머무는 한옥'이라는 정체성이 또렷하게 드러납니다.
입구를 지나 마주하는 자쿠지는 별도의 공간으로 분리하기보다 공용공간의 흐름 속에 자연스럽게 스며들도록 구성했습니다. 한옥의 외부 마당에서 휴식을 즐기듯 느껴지도록 담장을 연상시키는 와편을 벽면에 사용해 외부의 느낌을 내부로 끌어들였습니다. 마당에서 바라보는 기존 한옥의 모습을 최대한 유지하기 위해 툇마루를 보존하고 기존 도어를 살리되 필요한 부분만 새 창으로 구성했습니다.
내부에는 공간의 깊이감을 강조하기 위해 동양적인 패턴을 중첩하는 방식을 적용했습니다. 앞에 질감 있는 아크릴을 한 겹 더해 레이어링된 듯한 효과로 밀도와 여백으로 조절된 공간감을 완성했습니다. 이 패턴은 침대 헤드뿐 아니라 도어 손잡이에도 동일하게 적용하되 레이어링 순서를 달리해 같은 패턴 안에서도 또 다른 패턴을 느낄 수 있도록 했습니다.
전체적인 공간은 화이트 톤을 중심으로 정돈된 분위기를 유지하며 각 침실에는 개별적인 욕실과 화장실을 구성해 프라이빗한 휴식이 가능하도록 했습니다. 전망과 구조, 레이어링된 질감이 조용하게 겹쳐지는 이 한옥은 일상을 벗어나 온전한 휴식에 집중할 수 있는 공간으로 구성되었습니다.

A Hanok Where the View Comes to Rest
Situated at one of the highest points in Bukchon Hanok Village, this hanok offers a remarkable view the moment one ascends its long staircase. Its unique topography defines the space’s first impression, clearly revealing its identity as "a hanok where the view comes to rest."
Rather than isolating the jacuzzi as a separate room, it is designed to gently blend into the flow of the shared living space. To evoke the feeling of resting in an outdoor courtyard of a traditional hanok, roof tiles reminiscent of a boundary wall are applied to the interior wall, drawing an exterior sensibility inward. In order to preserve the original view of the hanok as seen from the courtyard, the toetmaru (wooden veranda) was retained, and existing doors were preserved wherever possible, with new windows introduced only where necessary.
Inside, overlapping Eastern patterns are applied to emphasize a sense of depth within the space. By layering textured acrylic panels in front, a subtle sense of density and openness is achieved through controlled layering. This pattern is applied consistently—from the bed headboard to the door handles—while varying the order of layers, allowing different expressions to emerge within the same motif.
The overall interior is composed around a calm white palette, maintaining a refined and composed atmosphere. Each bedroom is equipped with its own private bathroom and restroom, ensuring a secluded and restful stay. Here, views, structure, and layered textures quietly converge, creating a hanok designed for complete immersion in rest—away from the rhythms of everyday life.
