산수화 속을 거니는 듯 온전한 쉼을 선사하는 스테이
경복궁 서쪽, 서촌의 대나무 골목을 따라 걷다 보면 서울 도심 한가운데서도 마치 수묵산수화 속을 거니는 듯한 편안하고 고요한 인상의 한옥 스테이를 마주하게 됩니다. 문을 열고 들어서는 순간, 도심의 복잡한 시간에서 벗어나 다른 시간과 공간으로 이동한 듯한 감각이 펼쳐지는 이곳은 멀리 혹은 가까이 떠나온 이들을 위해 온전히 쉬어갈 수 있는 여유를 내어주고자 시작된 프로젝트입니다.
한옥의 전통적인 요소인 마당과 담장을 현대적인 감각으로 재해석해 공간의 중심에는 넓은 자쿠지를 배치하며 차별화된 장면을 만들었습니다. 사계절 내내 이용 가능한 여유로운 규모의 자쿠지에서 투숙객들은 일상과 여행의 피로를 천천히 풀며 깊은 휴식을 경험하게 됩니다. 물 위로 스며드는 빛과 공기는 공간의 고요한 분위기를 더욱 선명하게 드러냅니다.
침실과 거실의 벽면에는 산수화의 아름다움을 담은 그림을 배치해 실내에서도 자연과 가까이 머무는 듯한 감각을 이어갑니다. 달항아리를 쌓아 구성한 오브제, 한지 소재의 조명, 전통 문양이 새겨진 출입문 손잡이 등 세심하게 고려된 디테일들은 공간 곳곳에 전통의 결을 남기며 차분한 분위기를 완성합니다. 넓은 창호를 통해 마당의 조경을 실내로 자연스럽게 끌어들여 개방감을 강조하고 전통 한옥의 미감을 유지하면서도 현대적인 편안함을 함께 담아냈습니다.

Walking Through an Ink Landscape
Walking along the bamboo-lined alleys of Seochon, west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, one encounters a hanok stay that evokes the calm and serenity of strolling through a traditional ink landscape—right in the heart of the city. From the moment the door opens, the sense of time shifts, as if stepping away from the city’s complexity and into a different place altogether. This project began with the intention of offering unhurried rest and quiet ease for those who have traveled from near or far.
Reinterpreting the traditional hanok elements of the courtyard and boundary walls through a contemporary lens, a spacious jacuzzi was placed at the center of the space to create a distinctive focal point. Generously sized and available year-round, the jacuzzi allows guests to slowly release the fatigue of both daily life and travel, offering moments of deep and restorative rest. Light and air drifting across the surface of the water further accentuate the tranquil atmosphere of the space.
In the bedroom and living areas, artworks inspired by the beauty of traditional landscape painting extend the sense of nature into the interior. Details such as stacked moon-jar objects, hanji paper lighting, and door handles engraved with traditional patterns are carefully considered, leaving subtle traces of tradition throughout the space. Wide windows draw the courtyard’s greenery naturally indoors, emphasizing openness while preserving the aesthetic of a traditional hanok—paired seamlessly with modern comfort.
